Once Upon A Night - Manhattan New York

APRIL 26th, 2022

Once upon a night, my wife and I walked through Manhattan for the first time as New Yorkers. The sun was out all day welcoming us to the new city, and yet all we could think about was how fortunate we were to be able to explore a new place together.

Not Giving Up - Auschwitz Poland

APRIL 19th, 2022

It's an eerie feeling being in Auschwitz. It starts with a bus ride where they reply a video showing the horrors that went on during World War II, which turns your stomach more than the winding road, and once there you're faced with this lonely train track leading straight into the camp.

No Turning Back - San Francisco California

APRIL 12th, 2022

Early in our travels we took a quick flight to San Francisco for a weekend get-a-way. We walked the city without a car and got everywhere we needed to by public transportation. We couldn't believe we were just now discovering a place like this in the states and our quest to find more hard begun.

Better Days - Venice Italy

APRIL 5th, 2022

September 2010, the wife and I took a tour of Italy with Venice being the jumping off point. We enjoyed getting lost in the winding streets as we viewed the history that surrounded us, and even though it was obvious that the town has seen better days there was a defining aura that made us feel totally at ease.

Cleansed - Mount Cook New Zealand

MARCH 29th, 2022

Traveling around New Zealand was by far one of the best experiences I've had. The open road, beautiful landscape and backward seasons gave me insight to a whole new world where even the rain couldn't ruin the enjoyment of it all. And once that rain stopped I was greeted with this colorful rainbow reminder.

Worth The Wait - Lencois Maranhenses Brazil

MARCH 22nd, 2022

During a trip to Rio de Janeiro Brazil we took a few days out to explore an oasis in the middle of the desert called Lencois Maranhenses. After swimming, we hiked the hot sands to the top of the dunes, sat and waited for the sun to make its journey down to the horizon for an awesome look at nature.

In Plain Sight - Manhattan New York

MARCH 15th, 2022

2020 was a crazy year with the pandemic causing travel to be non-existant. We sheltered at home not knowing when things would be better, but as the months passed so to did our version of normal. Not willing to be bogged down, we took that opportunity to change our scenery and move to New York City.

Pausing the Moment - San Francisco California

MARCH 8th, 2022

In 2013 I drove up to San Francisco to help my nephew look at colleges. We immediately hit up the sites as we had only the weekend to explore and didn't stop until our legs hurt. It wasn't until we made our way back to the hotel that I came across this parking garage and was quickly reminded to slow down.

At Peace - Venice Italy

MARCH 1st, 2022

The city of Venice is overpriced, crowded and very touristy yet it's one of the most memorable places to go in your lifetime. The art, history, museums and canals are on offer here and it all starts with a romantic sunset gondola ride through town.

Power And Unity - Statue of Liberty New York City

FEBRUARY 22nd, 2022

A family trip to the East Coast in 2014 began in New York City with beautiful weather and a thirst for history. I couldn't get enough of the iconic buildings lining the avenues and the open parks sprawling around, but there was something about the Statue of Liberty that sparked an emotion.

Good Ole Days - Segovia Spain

FEBRUARY 15th, 2022

It's 2008, barely a year into my traveling, I took a day trip outside of Madrid to this town of Segovia. Seeing this medieval town up close was great in itself but then a mini parade of cars came around the corner which only added to its charm.

Behind The Wall - Berlin Germany

FEBRUARY 8th, 2022

While in Berlin, I was taken back with how modern the city looks compared to it's other European counterparts. There are monuments and buildings still to see, but everything is so spread out as the old buildings have transformed into this mini metropolis.

Enlightenment - Bangkok Thailand

FEBRUARY 1st, 2022

In March 2020 our month long trip to Asia was cut short by the pandemic, but not before being able to explore Thailand. We landed in Bangkok, happy that the border wasn't closed yet, and on day one ventured out to see the temples. What could've been a disaster still turned into an awesome trip as we made the best of what we had.

Wishful Thinking - Copenhagen Denmark

JANUARY 25th, 2022

Copenhagen was surprisingly one of the better European cities I've visited. We walked from one side to the other enjoying the history, colorful houses on the river and ending at the Little Mermaid statue. There were quite a few people lined up for selfies, but when I got this shot I couldn't help but feel its emotion.

Standing Out - Paris France

JANUARY 18th, 2022

Paris! A place for love, art and history. If there was only one city in the world I could've visited, this place would've been hard to pass up. Yes it can seem snobby and overcrowded at times, but what large city isn't. Walking by the Seine River, I came across this piece of street art. It stood out amongst the rest with a sense of...

Looking Glass - Malmo Sweden

JANUARY 11th, 2022

While traveling around Europe in 2016 I took the train from Copenhagen to Malmo Sweden, but after walking around I was surprised to see there wasn't much there. It wasn't until I came upon this interesting circle that viewed the river that I realized I needed to just change my view.

Persistence - Bellagio Las Vegas

JANUARY 4th, 2022

Las Vegas is a lively city full of night life, variety shows and of course gambling. You can win big but then lose it all in a blink of an eye, yet no matter how often this city takes from it's visitors they continue to flock in troves for the chance of a life time.

Night Owl - White House Washington DC

DECEMBER 28th, 2021

In April 2014, I took the family to the East Coast with a stop-over in Washington DC. It was our first time to see the nations capital and wanted to give our kids an opportunity to see history unfold firsthand. Our first night we ventured to the White House and wondered who was up at that late hour inside.

Take Me Away - South Beach Miami

DECEMBER 21st, 2021

Went to Miami for our twentieth anniversary as part of a cruise to the Bahamas. The beach was peaceful and the weather pleasant, despite being late November. It was a much needed get-a-way as I had been working steadily and always wanted to see what South Beach was about.

Break Time - Arezzo Italy

DECEMBER 14th, 2021

It's September 2010 and we're smack in the middle of our Italy trip when we find ourselves in Florence looking for a day trip location. Searching the map, I came across a small town of Arezzo which was only about a thirty minute train ride.

Shooting The Moon - Craters of the Moon Idaho

DECEMBER 7th, 2021

In September 2019, we set out on a road trip adventure spanning several places through the western half of the United States. While in Idaho, we found this lava park called Craters of the Moon which was full of caves, trails and of course lava formed rocks. Strangely, we only ran into a handful of people along the way.

Oasis - Lencois Maranhenses Brazil

NOVEMBER 30th, 2021

When I first researched Brazil I had no idea Lencois Maranhenses even existed. Tucked away from Rio (an extra flight to Sao Luis and another four hour bus ride further away) this magical land of sand dunes and collective rain water was something that we'll never forget.

Lasting Friendship - Kyoto Japan

NOVEMBER 23rd, 2021

Kyoto Japan was a place like no other. From the many temples and cherry blossoms to their enriched history and the views, it definitely deserves to be a highlight on anyone's travel list. One day, I happen to catch these two locals enjoying a walk down the street dressed in their tradional clothing and couldn't resist taking their photo.

Invitation - Quebec City Quebec

NOVEMBER 16th, 2021

July of 2015, my wife and I traveled across the border to Canada for the first time. Being more local than our usual destinations we had no idea what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised with how much Quebec City felt and looked like a quaint European town. That's where we found this tunnel that led to a nearby restaurant.

Spare Change - Lisbon Portugal

NOVEMBER 9th, 2021

In May 2012, we ventured off to the wonderful place of Lisbon Portugal where the buildings were uniform, the seven hills gave us a nice backdrop and everyone we met seemed very welcoming. It was our first destination of a long three week journey around Europe and we were pleasantly surprised with...

Pillar Of Strength - Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco

NOVEMBER 2nd, 2021

Took the family to San Francisco for a weekend vacation back in April 2011. Our very first night we went out to the Golden Gate Bridge and thought how beautiful it looked, even at night time. Our bodies were tired from the long drive in, but it was worth the effort to see the enjoyment on our kids faces.

Before The Fire - Notre Dame Paris

OCTOBER 26th, 2021

In 2017, I was able to take my son along on an overseas adventure with our first stop being in Paris. Between the Eiffel Tower, catecombs, Sacre Coeur and Louvre there are infinite ways to enjoy the city, but one place in particular that has stood in my heart was Notre Dame Cathedral.

Deadly Lies - Auschwitz Poland

OCTOBER 19th, 2021

We've all heard the horror stories of the Nazi Concentration camps around World War II, but being able to experience the grounds first hand while in Auschwitz was an experience that I wasn't prepared for. The feeling of death loomed as you can still smell it in the air...

Being Bold - Twin Falls Idaho

OCTOBER 12th, 2021

In September 2019 we set off on a Western US roadtrip and after several weeks found ourselves in Twin Falls. We didn't know anything about Idaho and were pleasantly surprised with the landscape, waterfalls and wineries scattered around.

Impossible Goals - Prague Czech Republic

OCTOBER 5th, 2021

Prague is a city not to be missed. The charm of the Charles Bridge and the view from the Old Clock Tower were absolutely fantastic to see in this medieval looking town. While inside the clock tower, I was amazed at the splendid view of the elevator...

Bright Lights - Manhattan New York

SEPTEMBER 28th, 2021

Moving to New York City was a huge change from Los Angeles, especially during the pandemic. It took a bit of an adjustment to maneuver the trains and be without a car, but after twenty plus years of looking after our kids we felt it was time to fend for ourselves.

Another Door Opens - Sintra Portugal

SEPTEMBER 21st, 2021

Portugal is an absolutely beautiful country full of culture, cuisine and architecture; all of this while still being affordable. One city in particular was Sintra. It boasts three main castles to view, which you can get on a pass, and the views were amazing.

From Afar - Duomo Florence

SEPTEMBER 14th, 2021

My first day in Florence I was not overly impressed. It was smaller than I thought, getting a decent shot of the Duomo was near impossible and I couldn't get tickets to see the statue of David without standing in a two hour line. It wasn't until I was able to get a clear view of the city from afar that I understood the beauty.

Let Freedom Ring - London United Kingdom

SEPTEMBER 7th, 2021

Our first trip overseas was in June 2007, and after two weeks traveling Europe we ended up having our last day in London. We ventured over to Buckingham Palace hoping to get tickets to go inside, but found it closed for the parade. Intrigued, we stayed and watched as the airplanes roared overhead, leaving a trail of red, white and blue.

New Beginnings - Miyajima Japan

AUGUST 31st, 2021

During a two week tour of Japan we took a day trip to the island of Miyajima, and even though the weather wasn't the best it was still nice to get away from the big city. After roaming around a bit I came across this couple walking hand-in-hand under the bridge that instantly sparked my imagination.

Home - Dublin Ireland

AUGUST 24th, 2021

Going to Ireland was more than just exploring a new country as it was a chance to get in touch with my roots. The hills were vast, castles were everywhere and despite never being there before I couldn't help but sense this feeling of home.

Good Intentions - Istanbul Turkey

AUGUST 17th, 2021

It's November 2009 and we've already spent two wonderful days roaming around Istanbul. On day three we crossed the Bosphorus Strait for no better reason than to say we actually stood in Asia, and even though the ferry was enjoyable, there wasn't much to sightsee outside of the residential neighborhood.

Just Another Day - Venice Italy

AUGUST 10th, 2021

Being in Venice is a magical blend of breathtaking views in an old charmed city. You could easily spend weeks just getting lost and enjoying a capucchino by the water, but hidden behind this magnificient place are the people that bring it together.

Unexpected Journey - Mount Cook New Zealand

AUGUST 3rd, 2021

Driving through New Zealand was an unforgettable experience. It was 2017 and we just left Queenstown on our way to our next hotel in Lake Tekapo when we came upon this road. Luckily, we rented a car which made it easy to pull over to take all of the photos we wanted.

Reflection - Aswan Egypt

JULY 27th, 2021

In 2009 I traveled down the Nile river to Aswan, Egypt. There wasn't much to the city as it was mainly a hub for nearby day trips and excusions, and the sun was absolutely scorching despite it being November. With the elements against me, I still ventured out trying to find a great shot I could use of the city when I came upon this warped reflection in the water.

Two Worlds - Lake Tahoe California

JULY 20th, 2021

It was a long road trip and Lake Tahoe was one of our last destinations as we ventured out early to capture the blue skies just as the dark clouds were rolling in. We had no idea if it was going to be a sunny day or a rainy one so we made the best of the time we had that morning just in case. Luckily the weather held up and turned out to be beautiful, but we were prepared either way.

Lonely At The Top - Tokyo Japan

JULY 13th, 2021

Traveling to Tokyo was like stepping into a whole nother world. Everyone was polite, workers dressed the same and was overall clean; this is all despite there being almost 14 million people living virtually on top of each other. There was no part of the city that felt unsafe to walk in, and I was always greeted with a smile despite not knowing the language. However, as much as I loved to visit I'm sure it's quite a lonely place to live if I couldn't communicate.

Fusion - Eiffel Tower Paris

JULY 6th, 2021

A moment in Paris that I'll never forget was the time when my wife and I sat across the street from the Eiffel Tower and enjoyed the sparkling light show. There was magic in the air as we held each other in our arms and kissed under the stars for what seemed like endless seconds.

A Night Out - Teatro Colon Buenos Aires

JUNE 29th, 2021

The romantic city of Buenos Aires couldn't have been complete without a stroll through the Teatro Colon Opera House. A guilded tour was needed to enter, and wasn't cheap, but the beauty of the place was well worth the price of admission. I didn't have time to catch a performance, but I imagined it would have been a spectacular way to enjoy an evening.

Hidden Flaws - Nara Japan

JUNE 21st, 2021

It's early April 2016 and a trip was planned to take the family to experience a different culture. My anime loving daughter picked Japan and it just so happened to be during the two weeks of the year when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.

Natural Habitat - Hobbiton New Zealand

JUNE 15th, 2021

New Zealand is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes that I've ever seen. From stunning caves and breathtaking moutains to quiet lakes and wine tasting; there's nothing short of things to do as time seems to stand still. One of the adventures included the set of Lord of the Rings "Hobbiton".

Reaching Success - Great Pyramid Giza

JUNE 9th, 2021

Early in my travels I was lucky to explore Egypt before the unrest. I had no idea what to expect other than wanting to see the Sphinx and Great Pyramids up close, so when I saw the poverty ridden city of Cairo I was initially unimpressed.

Solitude - Sacred Valley Peru

JUNE 2nd, 2021

As the sun came down upon the day I found myself alone in thought. The ruins were void of people allowing me to explore the grounds as I pleased, and for a moment it felt good to be away. The wind at my back was a nice reprieve from the hot day, and little by little I became engulfed in solitude.

Heavenly Wonder - Duomo Milan

MAY 27th, 2021

It was a long day of sightseeing as we took the train on a day trip to Bellinzona. We didn't know what to expect other than it was a few hours trip from Milan and the closest city in Switzerland that looked decent enough to travel to. It was also day 15 of the trip and our legs were overly extended at this point, and of course the town doesn't have any real public transportation.

Anticipation - Wine Country California

MAY 23rd, 2021

In late fall of 2014, my journey took me through San Luis Obispo, California for a weekend get-a-way of wine tasting. The morning shower threatened to put a damper on the trip as the vineyards were not ideal for the shot I was hoping to get, but then along came this road which changed my tune.
