Reaching Success
June 9th, 2021
Early in my travels I was lucky to explore Egypt before the unrest. I had no idea what to expect other than wanting to see the Sphinx and Great Pyramids up close, so when I saw the poverty ridden city of Cairo I was initially unimpressed.
Once I left the smog filled, exhaust smelling city and arrived in Giza, I was magically transported from an over-populated stretch of land to one of the greatest wonders our world has ever known. To stand in the presence of these ancient ruins was so inspiring that I could only imagine how it'd feel living so close, but then I realized how Giza is a mere thirty minutes from Cairo, but for many locals might as well be a million miles away.
We often contribute success to things we can show off like money or even prestiege, yet reaching success is not just about the goals that we accomplish but the path that we took to get there. If we are only focused on getting to the top then we'll forever be lost in the cast of it's shadow.
