Spare Change
NOVEMBER 9th, 2021
In May 2012, we ventured off to the wonderful place of Lisbon Portugal where the buildings were uniform, the seven hills gave us a nice backdrop and everyone we met seemed very welcoming. It was our first destination of a long three week journey around Europe and we were pleasantly surprised with how lively and charismatic this tucked away city was.
One day, passing in the tunnel under the main street, I came across this old man playing his accordion as the sound echoed throughout the passage like an opera house. Maybe he was down on is luck or perhaps this was a prime spot for practice, either way I realized how much this man just loved to play music no matter where he had to do it.
Things are not always what they seem and judging a person by their profession can often lead to miscalculations of their character. Not all of us are lucky enough to be able to live the lifestyle that we desire, but that should never stop us from going after our goals. I applaud anyone pushing through life to create what they want out of it, so well done Mr. Underground Tunnel Man.
