Pillar Of Strength
NOVEMBER 2nd, 2021
Took the family to San Francisco for a weekend vacation back in April 2011. Our very first night we went out to the Golden Gate Bridge and thought how beautiful it looked, even at night time. Our bodies were tired from the long drive in, but it was worth the effort to see the enjoyment on our kids faces.
The next day, we actually walked the bridge and were simply amazed at how tall it stretched skyward. Built during the depression era in July 1933, this symbol has stood nearly ninety years as a beacon of hope to the city as well as all across America.
We are all no strangers to getting knocked down every now and then, but staying on the ground is not what we were meant to do. Our ancestors worked tirelessly night and day to simply survive and make this country what it is, and unfortunately our generation is far removed from heavy lifting and perseverance. We must never take for granted our good fortune of living in a time that seems easy, as you never know what may happen unexpectedly.
