Break Time
DECEMBER 14th, 2021
It's September 2010 and we're smack in the middle of our Italy trip when we find ourselves in Florence looking for a day trip location. Searching the map, I came across a small town of Arezzo which was only about a thirty minute train ride.
Being outside of the touristy areas, Arezzo was quite different for many reasons. There were only a handful of people walking around, we were able to hit all of the sights on one combined, low-cost ticket, and were introduced to a town where little English was spoken and had to get by with the limited amount of Italian we knew (or could find in the books).
The journey was an interesting one, but one that I'm glad we took as sometimes a change of scenery can keep the motivation going.
